Reporters learned yesterday that the ministry of land and resources recently organized the national strategic reserves of mineral experts seminar, the meeting said that China will soon launch the strategic reserves of mineral research and implementation work, the first batch of mineral reserves pilot will focus on coal and rare earth resources. It is reported that the rare earth mineral strategic reserve work of the pilot set in baotou, mainly involving enterprises for baotou steel rare earth.

The status of rare earths was enhanced

It is reported that from last year, baotou steel rare earth began to carry out the feasibility study of strategic reserve project. According to the research plan, the company will build 10 rare earth oxide storage facilities, while the Inner Mongolia autonomous region, baotou city and baotou iron & steel (group) will give a discount of about 30 million yuan per year for two years.

The main rare earth ore raw material of baotou steel comes from baotou steel's mining area in bayan obo, Inner Mongolia. China nonferrous metals industry association insiders told reporters that because baotou iron and steel mining of iron ore, associated with the production of large rare earth ore. But because of the state's quota limit on rare earth production, baotou steel's rare earth production capacity cannot be expanded accordingly. "The pilot and discount can be understood as the state will be the government to implement the acquisition and storage work by the industry's leading enterprises, and the state will be corresponding to its promotion of support. This is a further promotion of baotou steel rare earth's position in the industry. This person said.

We will tighten price controls

It is reported that the country's research on the reserves of rare earth and other strategic mineral resources began in May 2007. National securities analyst guan jianxin told reporters that mineral strategic reserves are mainly based on the consideration of avoiding excessive exploitation and waste of resources, balancing the inter-generational distribution of resources, and strengthening price control of some strategic resources. China is the world's richest country in rare earth resources and the largest exporter of rare earths. But over the years it has been caught in the situation of over-exploitation, low utilization rate, low value-added products. The strategic reserve work of the substantive promotion of the rare earth industry will form a good.

In addition, reserve products will further control the market supply and circulation, and the large amount of reserves will be of profound significance to the improvement of the market supply and demand relationship.

According to the financial report, baotou steel rare earth's net profit in the first quarter of this year was 125 million yuan. In 2009, the net profit attributable to shareholders of listed companies after deducting non-recurring gains and losses was 12.586,000 yuan.
