Statistics from the Bureau of Statistics show that the domestic refined tin output in June was 13,772 tons, a year-on-year increase of 9.2%; the cumulative output from January to June was 72,316 tons, a year-on-year increase of 24.5%. In terms of raw materials, the output of tin ore metal in June was 5,000 tons, unchanged from the same period last year; the cumulative output from January to June was 36,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 20.0%.
The demand of downstream enterprises such as solder and tinplate has improved significantly compared with the same period last year, which has boosted domestic tin production. On the other hand, from January to June this year, the average price of tin increased by 37.7% compared with the same period of last year, which is a big increase, which also drives the enthusiasm of enterprises to increase production.
Looking back on the first half of the year, except for the Spring Festival holiday in February, which affected some production, the output in the rest of the months increased steadily month by month. Among them, the output in Hunan has a larger contribution to the overall increase. Due to the freezing rain in 2008 and the low price in 2009, the production in Hunan has been greatly affected. After the production environment has been improved this year, the output has increased significantly. The completion of Wuchangping Mine in Chenzhou, Yunnan Tin also provides space for local tin production to increase. In addition, the drought at the beginning of the year had a certain impact on the mining and dressing of tin mines and the smelting of tin ingots in Yunnan and Guangxi. As the drought gradually eased since January, enterprises in the affected areas have gradually resumed production, resulting in a significant increase in output.
On May 20 this year, the Ministry of Land and Resources held a video conference on the special rectification of the development order of rare earth and other minerals in the country, and issued the "Notice of the Ministry of Land and Resources on the Special Rectification of the Development Order of Rare Earth and Other Minerals", and decided to carry out special rectification from June to November 2010. activities, ten measures to vigorously rectify the development order including tin mines. Focus on cracking down on violations of laws and regulations and indiscriminate mining and digging, focus on rectifying key areas, completely reverse the chaotic situation in some areas, and build a long-term mechanism for the supervision of development order. This special rectification is divided into three stages: June-July, the stage of cleaning, investigation and announcement; August-October, the stage of punishment, supervision and rectification; and November, the stage of inspection, summary and acceptance. At that time, it may affect the mining volume of domestic tin mines in the second half of the year.
